BLOOMERY MAKES HISTORY!

And we want YOU to join us!

www.startengine.com/startup/bloomery

You can own a part of the Distillery and help SweetShine go national! We can now do this with your help, through grassroots Regulation Crowdfunding! We were first in the nation (by 4 minutes!) to file through the SEC at 6:35 am!

After four long years of waiting for Title III of the JOBS (Jumpstart Our Business Startups) Act to come to fruition, today, May 16, 2016, is the date that this unprecedented opportunity for American small businesses to raise growth capital by using grassroots efforts finally comes into effect.

Bloomery has been preparing for quite some time to be ready to launch an offering on this historic day as one of the inaugural companies in the country. Now you can be part of this historic event too-by becoming an investor in the Distillery.

Today, Bloomery is only one of a handful of small American companies taking crowdfunding to a whole new level as a result of Title III of the JOBS Act. Title III essentially allows crowdfunding participants – investors – the ability to purchase actual ownership in a company rather than simply donating money to a company via a rewards-based program like Kickstarter. With Title III of the JOBS Act comes the latest in equity crowdfunding laws permitting non-accredited individuals to invest in small businesses like ours. Investing was previously restricted to wealthier accredited investors and institutions only. Now friends, family and fans here, there, and everywhere can actually invest in the Distillery’s future and the growth of the company.

Our dream is to be able to take SweetShine from a tiny log cabin in the woods where the Blue Ridge Mountains meet the Shenandoah River in West Virginia and bring it to every state in America. But we need YOU to help us on this journey. We ask for your support and grassroots effort, once again, to take Bloomery SweetShine to the next level. Help us to #ConnectYourSpirit to ours. As friends, family and fans, you’ve already been such a huge part of our success…why not jump into the journey with us?

For more information about our company, our offering, and to make an investment, please visit www.startengine.com/startup/bloomery.

Cheers!
Linda, Tom, Rob and the whole cast of characters who make up this crazy, fun-filled Distillery

PS  The success of this grassroots crowdfunding depends on you. Aside from being an investor yourself the best way to help us reach our goal is for you to share the excitement with your circle regardless of where in the United States they live. Hard LemonadeStrawberryTea

Strawberry Palmer Mar-tea-ni

We’re finishing Strawberry Month with another 1-2-3 cocktail. That’s right, only 3 ingredients in today’s masterpiece.

strawberrypalmer-17-300x200-1

This is all you need:

strawberrypalmer-21-300x200-1

2 oz Hard Lemonade SweetShine

2 oz sweet tea vodka

4 strawberries

strawberrypalmer-31-300x200-1

Start with slicing your strawberries.

strawberrypalmer-41-300x200-1

Strawberries and Hard Lemonade are a match made in (almost) Heaven!

strawberrypalmer-51-300x200-1

Quarter the berries and put them in a mixing glass, mason jar, anything with a lid.

strawberrypalmer-16-300x200-1

Add a little magic – 2 oz Hard Lemonade SweetShine

strawberrypalmer-9-300x200-1

Muddle. If you don’t have a fancy gadget like this just use any blunt object like the back of a wooden spoon.

strawberrypalmer-7-300x200-1

Now add 2 oz sweet tea vodka.

strawberrypalmer-8-300x200-1

Can’t find such a thing? Substitute regular vodka + sweet tea. Easy.

strawberrypalmer-10-300x200-1

Now add ice.

strawberrypalmer-11-300x200-1

Cover and shake until ice cold.

strawberrypalmer-12-300x200-1

The ice will dilute the drink a bit, which is what we want for this particular cocktail.

strawberrypalmer-13-300x200-1

Strain into a chilled cocktail glass, or over ice if you prefer.

strawberrypalmer-14-300x200-1

Garnish with a strawberry.

strawberrypalmer-15-300x200-1

BakingChampagneCupcakeDessertDessertsPeach

Peach Bellini Cupcakes

According to T, these cupcakes are “un-bellini-ble”, and we think you’ll agree! This is a 3-part recipe, so we’re breaking it down a little differently this week.

For the champagne cupcakes:

Preheat oven to 350.

peachbellinicupcakes-300x200-1

1 2/3 c. flour

1 c. sugar

1/4 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. baking powder

peachbellinicupcakes-21-300x200-1

Whisk to combine.

In a separate bowl:

peachbellinicupcakes-31-300x200-1

3 egg whites

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1/2 c. sour cream

1/2 c. + 2 Tbsp. champagne

peachbellinicupcakes-42-300x200-1

Beat on medium speed until combined.

peachbellinicupcakes-6-300x200-1

Gradually add flour mixture to egg mixture while beating at medium-low speed. Occasionally scrape down sides of bowl to incorporate.

peachbellinicupcakes-8-300x200-1

Line cupcake pan with wrappers and fill each one about 2/3 with prepared batter.

peachbellinicupcakes-18-300x200-1

Bake 18-20 min, until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool 2 more minutes in pan.

peachbellinicupcakes-13-300x200-1

Move to wire cooling rack to cool completely.

For the peach filling:

peachbellinicupcakes-9-300x200-1

1 1/2 c. ripe peaches, peeled and diced

1/4 c. brown sugar

1/2 tsp. lemon juice

1/4 Tbsp. corn starch

1/4 Tbsp. Peach SweetShine

peachbellinicupcakes-11-300x200-1

Bring 3/4 cup peaches, brown sugar, and lemon juice to a boil then simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

peachbellinicupcakes-12-300x200-1

Mash peaches.

peachbellinicupcakes-14-300x200-1

Add remaining peaches and simmer 5 more minutes.

peachbellinicupcakes-15-300x200-1

Combine corn starch and Peach SweetShine, stirring until smooth.

peachbellinicupcakes-16-300x200-1

Add to peach mixture, and stir. Simmer until thick.

peachbellinicupcakes-17-300x200-1

Remove from heat and chill in refrigerator.

For the peach buttercream frosting:

peachbellinicupcakes-211-300x200-1

1 c. unsalted butter, room temp

2 1/2 c. confectioner’s sugar

4 Tbsp. Peach SweetShine

peachbellinicupcakes-26-300x200-1

Beat butter on medium-high speed for 5 minutes, occasionally scraping sides of bowl to incorporate.

peachbellinicupcakes-23-300x200-1

Switch to medium-low speed and gradually add confectioner’s sugar.

peachbellinicupcakes-25-300x200-1

Add Peach SweetShine and beat on medium-high speed until all ingredients are combined.

peachbellinicupcakes-24-300x200-1

Assembly:

peachbellinicupcakes-19-300x200-1

Use something round to create a hole in the cupcakes.

peachbellinicupcakes-20-300x200-1

Fill a piping bag or ziplock bag with peach filling.

peachbellinicupcakes-27-300x200-1

Fill cupcakes.

peachbellinicupcakes-28-300x200-1

peachbellinicupcakes-29-300x200-1

Now top with frosting.

peachbellinicupcakes-30-300x200-1

peachbellinicupcakes-33-300x200-1

Maybe add some sprinkles for fun.

peachbellinicupcakes-34-300x200-1
