Red, White, and Booze

Happy Memorial Day, everyone! We hope you’re celebrating with all your favorite people as we honor and remember our veterans. If you’re entertaining guests this weekend it’s the perfect time to try our new Red, White, & Booze creations!

Our go-to for any hot weather outdoor party is the classic Mint Julep. This minty cool cocktail is traditionally served in a tin cup with crushed ice to ensure maximum chill. Plus, it features America’s spirit … Bourbon! For extra patriot points we’re adding strawberries, blueberries, and Cremma Lemma SweetShine to make our Red, White, & Julep!

What you need:

img_3009-300x225-1

2 oz Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

1/2 oz Cremma Lemma SweetShine

1 sugar cube

5+ fresh mint leaves, to taste

1+ strawberry, to taste

8+ blueberries, to taste

crushed ice

img_3017-300x225-1

Add sugar cube, mint, berries, and Cremma Lemma to a julep tin, or any glass you prefer.

img_3024-300x225-1

Press and twist to muddle. Your goal is to release oil from the mint and juices from the berries while dissolving the sugar.

img_3025-300x225-1

Add crushed ice.

img_3026-300x225-1

The ice MUST be crushed to achieve the maximum cooling effect of this cocktail, and don’t skimp! You want enough ice to create a dome like a snow cone.

img_3027-300x225-1

Add bourbon, and give it a gentle stir.

img_3031-300x225-1

If you need, add more ice to create your dome.

img_3032-300x225-1

Decorate your festive little julep with fresh mint and berries.

img_3033-300x225-1

Don’t forget a coaster!

Oh, wait! We have two bonus recipes for you!

Cremma Lemma

Red, White, and Bubbly

Get ready for the 4th of July with some fizzy fun! We’re keeping this one nice and simple so you can just sip and relax this holiday weekend.

Here’s what you need:

untitled-2-300x225-2

1 tbsp strawberry puree

2 oz Cremma Lemma

3 oz champagne

(Really, though, you can use whatever ratios you like).

untitled-3-300x225-2

Don’t forget! The cream in Cremma Lemma rises to the top and forms an all-natural plug in the neck of the bottle, so if you’re trying to pour but nothing is coming out, just give it a good shake! And if a little piece of the plug pours out, eat it! It tastes like boozy cheesecake. BONUS!

untitled-7-300x225-1

And now for the cocktail …

First, chill all ingredients and glassware.

untitled-6-300x225-1

Spoon 1 tbsp strawberry puree into the bottom of a chilled martini glass.

untitled-13-300x225-2

Sit the spoon on top of the puree, then gently pour Cremma Lemma into the bowl of the spoon to layer.

untitled-9-300x225-2

Just like so.

untitled-20-300x225-2

Carefully top with chilled champagne.

untitled-22-300x225-2

Cut the bottom of a strawberry for garnish.

untitled-21-300x225-2

Beautiful.

untitled-25-300x225-2

Add a festive blue straw to complete the patriotic look.
