Like our Limoncello this is a traditional Italian digestivo, a straight from the bottle sipper after dinner finishing very smoothly. Unlike limoncello this is not as sweet and offers many spice flavors in the finish. The dark color is from all natural unripe or green black walnuts and a mix of spices creating a unique flavor for you to savor!

Three Star Manhattan 2 oz Bourbon 2 oz Bloomery SweetShine Ginger

1 oz Bloomery SweetShine Black Walnut

Black Manhattan
The Manhattan has been a perennial favorite but we found a way to truly update this to something very special. Over ice start with 3 oz of bourbon or rye whiskey, add 1/2 oz of sweet vermouth, 1/2 oz of Black Walnut SweetShine and a dash of bitters. Garnish with a cherry. Big City in the name, big flavor in the glass, big smile on your face!

Mad Dog
The perfect blend of Virtue and Vice. Mix 2 oz. of Bourbon, 2 oz. of Bloomery Ginger ‘Shine and 1 oz. of Bloomery Black Walnut. Over ice, with a muddled cherry. Bam! The smoothest blend of deliciousness. In a glass. Beware it’ll kick your….butt.

Bully Rum and Cola The flavor pops! Again a twist on a favorite that will have you saying “wow” Black Walnut where have you been all my life? Well at least since I was 21! Equal parts rum and Black Walnut SweetShine over ice and topped with your favorite cola!

Well, let’s add walnuts and see what that tastes like!

Devil Cream Sipper
Need something sweet? Yes! Something with some flavor? Yes! Something that satisfies? Yes! Something to kick back and relax with? Yes! Then this simple little treat is just for you! Stir and warm equal parts Black Walnut SweetShine and half and half together–oooh, warms the soul. Serve as a shot or maybe in an espresso cup as a nice finish to the day!

A Lil’ Something Special
In your hot cocoa, coffee, or beer Black Walnut adds a lil’ something special to any beverage. Drizzled over ice cream it is the perfect fireside companion (almost–hot dates are still number one). Try this over spice cake too! Hot!

  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend on medium-high speed until combined.
  2. Garnish with shredded coconut and strawberry, if desired.

Black Irish Tea 

  • 1 oz Black Walnut SweetShine
  • 4 oz water
  • 1 black tea bag
  1. In a mug steep tea bag in hot water.
  2. Add Black Walnut SweetShine and stir.

The Jonas SweetShine Cocktail

  • 2 ounces small batch bourbon
  • 1 ounce Black Walnut SweetShine
  • dash of blood orange bitters
  • Turbinado Sugar to taste
  • Jonas snow
  • garnish of choice

Cafe Nochino

  • 1 oz Black Walnut SweetShine
  • 2 oz espresso
  • pinch cardamom
  • dollop Cranberry Clementine whipped cream (recipe below)
  1. Prepare 2 oz hot espresso.
  2. Add Black Walnut SweetShine and cardamom. Stir.
  3. Top with Cranberry Clementine whipped cream (recipe below).
  4. Sprinkle with more cardamom, if desired.
  5. Serve hot.

Black Walnut Hot Buttered Rum

1 oz Black Walnut SweetShine

1 oz rum

2-3 oz hot water

1 tsp brown sugar

1-2 star anise

1 cinnamon stick

1 Tbsp butter

  1. Place butter, sugar, and spices at the bottom of a warm mug. Muddle.
  2. Add Black Walnut SweetShine, rum, and hot water. Stir.
  3. Garnish with more star anise and cinnamon, if desired.
  4. Serve hot.
